Happy News & Sad News

We'll start with the "Happy News". The magazine with my adorable grandbubby Ashton in it has FINALLY hit the newstands. Ashy looks so little in these photos as they were taken when he was only 2 1/2 weeks old and now he's almost 5 months and about 17#!!! He's my chunky, chubby man =)

As for the "Sad News", my 23 year old son, Charlie, was ROBBED AT GUN POINT earlier this week by three black guys in their late teens/early 20's. It happened right across the street from his work. Thank God Charlie wasn't hurt. They stole his wallet, which only had $20.00 cash in it, but he had been saving Best Buy gift certificates for months (we had been giving them to him for Christmas, Birthday, etc.) to buy a new TV, and he had $400.00 worth of those in this wallet also. He spent the next day going to the credit union, the Secretary of State, etc. trying to replace all of his ID and bank cards that were in his wallet, having to get a new bank account number, etc. (what a crappy way to spend your day off). I am just so thankful that he wasn't shot or killed! He was so calm about it, which I'm sure is why he wasn't hurt. He just did exactly what they told him to. I can NOT even imagine having a gun shoved in my back. What is this world coming to...

Debbie i dont know where to start with this one!
Ok firstly it goes without saying that Ashy is just a gorgeous chubby angel boy and how darn proud you all must be! Wont he be fascinated when he's older and see's that magazine!
Ok NOW Thank God that Charlie is ok. What an amazing guy to have stayed calm and gotten through that. I bet he is getting lots of hugs too. What a dreadful thing to happen. But he is safe and thats what matters (remember you said Angels are above us, they were watching over him you know).

Luv n hugs to you guys.

Debbie,
That makes me so darn mad about your son getting robbed. Thankfully he gave up the wallet and those idiots didn't feel it necessary to do anything else. It's a nasty world we live in. My husband got robbed by three fellas just like your sons guys about 22 years ago and he still talks about it in a venomous manner. It is scary and humiliating ( from a man's perspective). Please tell Charlie that we're very sorry.

Ashy looks adorable as usual. That is one cute kid!

Debbie darlin', count yourself lucky for both of your blessings today!

Deb,
What a truly wicked thing to happen... I don't understand the malicious behavior that is demonstrated towards one another. It breaks my hurt & makes me ill to my stomach.

Thank you Lord for Charlie's safekeeping. In Jesus Name, Amen

OMG Debbie, I couldn't believe it when I read your email about Charlie. How absolutely terrifying for him. Thank the Lord he stayed calm. The world has gone crazy alright. Doesn't matter where you live, it can happen to anyone. Angels were certainly watching over him.
On a happier note, how proud you all must be to see Ashy's pics in the mag. He is, as you say, just adorable.
Talk to you soon, if my darned email ever gets fixed.
Lotsa Hugz, Coll :-}

I was sad to see your description of your son's robbers, as "three black guys"...May we assume that the angels watching over him were white?

I'm sorry if my other comment seemed rude...I guess I just wanted to point out that your description of your son's robbers, may be offensive to some people. I'm sure you didn't mean it to be...Take care.

I am sorry to hear what happened to your son and also sorry to hear the comment above too. It was completely uncalled for.

... how would anonymous suggest the guys be described.. if they were say ... little green men with pink spots would that be offending ALL little green men with pink spots. I think not. It is just a description and that is all.

dear "anonymous", you apparently don't know me very well... did i also offend all "guys" and anyone in their "late teens/early 20"? i simply stated the facts and why you chose to comment on the one that you did, i have no idea. debbie p.s. thanks again to twinkle pink - well said =)

Hi Debbie!
Sweet little Ashy - too adorable as always & I know you're so proud! And what an awful thing for your son to be robbed at gunpoint....I'm sure he was so scared & that's such great news that he is ok & wasn't hurt. He's very lucky & with all the crazy awful happenings in the news lately you are very blessed ~ big hugs to Charlie!
Have a beautiful day!

Dear Debbie...I would like to apologize for offending you. It really wasn't my intention. Take care.

First, why do you call him "ashy" and why do you refer to him as a "grandbubby"? That sounds silly and contrived to be cute for your blog!

PurpleFlowerFairy said...

unbelieveable... i'm not sure this comment even deserves a response, but i'll attempt one. ashy is ashton's nickname, just like debbie is my nickname, instead of my legal given name of deborah. as for grandbubby, that is an australian term, instead of using our term grandbaby, i use the australian term, grandbubby.

Melly1986 said...

Im not sure if I should respond to you... but what the heck!....
I didn't realize you were australian! Grandbubby sounds CONTRIVED to me sorry! You just sound like youre one of those people who says "hugs" and "bloggie" and Im sure you use emoticons when you write... Just so fake! If youre going to blog, just be yourself!
